Conjuring the vision of a utopia is challenging when we’ve been living in something of a dystopia for the last year. But the concept of this idealistic, escapist space is exactly what Grace Brown of Oh Hey Grace and artist Margaret Voterakis want you to imagine at their new exhibition, open now at Modern Times.

Joining Margaret’s still-life paintings with Grace’s ceramic sculptures, Utopian Pursuits portrays everyday structures and scenes as dreamscapes. Fall down the Escher-like rabbit hole of Grace’s twisted, labyrinthine architectural sculptures; or witness Margaret’s painterly hand transform the mundane into something magical and mysterious in her uncanny domestic tableaux.

The pair of artists are linked through a mutual fascination with geometry, each exploring lines and hard edges throughout their respective mediums. We love this unexpected combo of talent!
