Double Studio has collaborated with Byron Bay-based designer and creator Olive Cooke on a wishlist-worthy rug collection, which takes its cues from coastal motifs and the beauty of the natural world.

Known for her sophisticated personal style, both in the world of fashion and interiors, Olive worked closely with Australian rug brand to create nine elegant designs in the range, dubbed ELEMENTAL.

Inspiration for the collection’s subtle patterns started with Olive’s love of nature — from childhood memories of collecting shells, to constellations in the sky, and the changing seasons.

But the team also looked to her own family home, a timber-lined, architectural build that’s garnered much adoration online for its distinctive blend of Scandi, Japanese, and contemporary coastal aesthetics.

‘Her home brings together colour, pattern, art and objects in a way that feels completely her own, so the idea of translating that point of view into rugs felt really exciting,’ Double Studio brand director Harriet Fearnley says.

‘The collection feels very true to Olive, but the designs also leave plenty of room for people to bring them into their own homes and make them their own.’

Standouts from the range include the Dune pattern, with its abstract geometry and sandy colours, while Harvest features whimsical, blue florals.

Every rug is made from 100 per cent wool pile, with hand-knotted and table-tufted constructions giving each piece its own tactile character.

And as with all Double Studio pieces, the ELEMENTAL collection is fully washable, so the elevated designs can also withstand the realities of everyday life.
