The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards is one of the most prestigious award programs in Australia. The 65 finalists represent the breadth, talent and diversity of the First Nation storytellers, and the many contemporary and traditional ways their practices are connected to identity. From bark artists to multimedia installations, the shortlist showcases emerging and established practitioners alike.

This year,  former SBS, Triple J and NITV reporter, and Gamilaroi woman Brooke Boney will host the ceremony, which will be held online from 6pm. You can view it via this link!

Alongside the ceremony, the entire NATSIAA exhibition containing all shortlisted projects will go online for public viewing. The interactive virtual gallery will display the work of each finalist, and will allow visitors to go behind each of the shortlisted works and access to the artists’ stories. The exhibition will be available to view online from Friday, August 7th.
