Now that the depths of winter have passed and the long-awaited summer sun is slowly emerging, it’s time to turn our attention to prepping our outdoor spaces for alfresco living.
Basil Bangs’ latest exclusive Verso collection, in collaboration with award-winning interior designer practice Tom Mark Henry, features a range of patio umbrellas, cushions and chairs that will bring an elevated look to both residential and commercial spaces.
The collection is inspired by bespoke tailoring. Not only do the pieces take cues from menswear suiting, featuring invisible seams, cut outs reminiscent of peek-a-boo cuffs, and a double layer canopy, but the fabrics are woven exclusively by the same heritage Italian mil behind Basil Bangs’ Italian collection.
‘Verso started with a simple idea: that the most interesting things in design are often the ones just out of view… Together, we built an entire collection around this notion of The Reveal,’ says Tristan Qasabian, senior designer at Tom Mark Henry.
The collection comprises 21 pieces across five categories, available in three colourways — Berry, Cocoa and Forest — all designed to work perfectly on their own or as a coordinated scheme.
‘We wanted to make something that rewarded a closer look,’ says Basil Bangs co-founder Krista Huebner.
‘The double layer, the Italian cloth, the stitching details… none of it shouts. But when you find it, you feel it. That’s what good design does, and it’s these small, thoughtful details that our studios care about most.’
