‘Paint is the quickest, cheapest, and most effective way to add personality to your home.’ – Andrea Lucena-Orr

No one knows how to transform a space with paint like Dulux!

Armed with the Dulux Revive palette and a paintbrush, Dulux colour forecaster and stylist Bree Leech recently turned a predominantly white lounge room and a tween bedroom into the most inspired elements of a family home.

The Revive palette features colours predicted by Dulux as the shades of the summer. The palette sees vibrant hues such as Dulux Integra (a rich blue), Dulux Diorite (a lively green) and Dulux Perplexed (a whimsical lilac) paired with over-scaled patterns, voluptuous furniture, and abstract artworks to bring an ‘anything is possible’ optimism into the home.

This particular home with its previous neutral interiors and minimal texture proved to be the perfect canvas for the Revive colours. ‘It lacked depth and didn’t feel particularly inviting,’ says Bree of the home pre-transformation. ‘We started by painting the walls in Dulux Paper Brown, which instantly added warmth and character.’

The placement of the shades was equally important to enhance the scale and feel of the room.  Dulux colour and communications manager Andrea Lucena-Orr explains, ‘To make the ceiling appear higher, we gave it a couple of coats of Breezy Half—a lovely, soft blue that’s perfect for brightening up open-plan rooms like this one. Taking the ceiling colour part-way down onto the wall, as we’ve done here, is a design trick to make the ceiling feel higher.’

In the tween bedroom, Bree balanced calm with a sense of fun, showing the versatility of the Revive palette. Soothing and immersive Dulux Integra features on the walls, paired with Dulux Diorite on the skirting boards, window trims, and door for a refreshing point of difference. Printed bedding by Castle ties the entire scheme together, proving there’s no such thing as too much colour or pattern!

For those intimidated by colour, Bree says the Dulux Revive palette is the ideal to start with its range of diverse shades inspired by nature and decades past.

It’s only paint, so have fun with it! ‘Paint is the quickest, cheapest, and most effective way to add personality to your home—all you need is a tin of paint, a couple of hours, and you can give a room an entirely new look,’ says Andrea.

Remember, it’s not just your walls that can receive the colour treatment. Use paint to breathe fresh life into old furniture, your front door, planters, picture frames…wherever your imagination and creativity takes you!

To revive your home this summer, Dulux is offering the chance to WIN 25 litres of Dulux paint and a $2,000 Castle voucher. To go into the running, fill out the entry form below.

Please note this competition is now closed. The winner was drawn and notified on Wednesday November 30th. See here for the T&Cs.
