Established in mid-2017 by Virginia Selleck and Kirsten Dickie as an online retailer for premium wines, the impeccable South Melbourne store is the first physical location for Magnum + Queens.
Designed by studio studio led by Daniel Frigo and Karissa Marston, the store itself looks more like a chic, upmarket bar than a traditional wine shop! Ample sage-green shelving is cast in low, moody lighting, and features such as the stripped-back timber floor in-store greenery supplied by Ivy Muse adds a softness to the otherwise sleek, modern environment.
The space has been specifically designed to host experiences such as regular wine tasting and food matching events. A slick, black benchtop surrounded by spindly barstools runs lengthwise through the store, and visitors are encouraged to take their time and engage with the knowledgeable team about the vast array of sommelier-selected wines and spirits.
With a focus on small, sustainable craft producers, Magnum + Queens has handpicked over 700 wines from Australia and around the world!
