At the entrance to the main galleries of Heide Museum of Modern Art sits a colourful steel sculpture created by artist Emily Floyd in 2014. Titled Abstract Labour, this collection of large primary coloured shapes is the inspiration behind the museum’s latest collaboration with iconic Australian fashion label, Gorman.

A line of apparel and accessories carrying the totally new print have been released, including an apron, spray jacket, scarf, tote, tea-towels and clutches. The textile is exclusive to Heide, and available to purchase here at the museum’s online shop.

Despite Gorman’s longstanding relationship with Heide (which has seen them team up a few times in the past!), this new collaboration signals the brand’s commitment to working with important local artists and institutions. Just last year they released a long-anticipated collection with Mangkaja arts centre, which debuted at Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair. And who could forget the 2018 Mirka Mora series? Keep ’em coming!
