Founded by multi-talented creative extraordinaire (and TDF alumnus!), Nat Turnbull, Laze is a new brand making colourful recycled plastic mats for all kinds of outdoor activity. She enlisted longtime friend and collaborator Alice Oehr to lend her colourful eye to the designs, and photographers Sam Wong and Victoria Zschommler to capture the collection in-situ. Coupled with Nat’s expert styling eye and… voilà! It’s a meeting of minds we just can’t look away from.

Get ready to relax, recline and socialise al fresco… in style!

Who knew that the summer of 2020 would bring back the humble picnic? In accordance with pandemic protocols, park picnics are the new clubs. And we are so okay with that!

Stylist Nat Turnbull is totally fine with that too, leaning into the recent fashion for outdoor gatherings in a post-lockdown world by launching Laze – a new range of outdoor mats designed for perfect picnic style.

‘The idea came to me after our long lockdown in Melbourne,’ Nat says. ‘Outdoor time became so important, and picnics or outdoor outings became more and more popular with restrictions still in place.’ The dearth of design-led options for picnic gear spurred her to create Laze.

Nat collaborated with illustrator and friend, Alice Oehr, who brought her signature flair for colour to the designs. Woven from recycled plastic, the outdoor mats are easy to clean and perfectly durable for every environment – from sandy beaches to social park outings.

Nat is planning to release two collections with new designs per year.
