Carpet

Creating a cosy space really does start from the ground up, and carpet is a no-brainer for those rooms where you want to feel a sense of warmth underfoot, especially in the bedroom. In addition to muted tones like Supertuft Imagine Luscious Carpet, we love how coloured carpet is also making a comeback in the living room! Supertuft Escape Velour Esther is the perfect green colourway for a retro-inspired room.

Cork

Cork might be one of the more underrated flooring options, but it has a long list of benefits you should know. It’s cost-effective, aesthetically versatile, and is a natural thermal and acoustic insulator — which helps make rooms with cork flooring warmer and quieter! Go for a classic textural look with Kustom Timber Copenhagen Cork, or make a statement with Kustom Timber Dark Cork’s moody speckled tones.

Terrazzo

The great thing about terrazzo is it works with almost any architectural style. The composite material contains chips of marble, quartz, granite, or glass to create a playful and multi-coloured tile, so using it for flooring is an excellent way to inject pattern into a space. Something like Wintersun by Fibonacci is a nice minimalistic option, combining Carrara marble with a fresh base, while Juliette’s Kiss reveals flecks of blushing pink and peach-toned aggregate extracted from a quarry in Verona!

Herringbone

Herringbone floors have been around for centuries (beginning in Ancient Egypt and Rome!) and the style remains one of the most timeless ways to install timber floors today. Royal Oak Floors French Grey Oak Floorboards are a stunning example of this subtle, yet eye-catching feature floor — especially fitting for an older building or a heritage home.

Warm-Toned Timbers

Want your home to feel like a big hug? Then picking the right warm-toned timber for the floors is crucial. Royal Oak Floors Smoked Timber Floorboards showcases honey-like hues in graduating tones for an updated take on a traditional favourite. Meanwhile, Kustom Timber Beach House Floorboards offer a more blonde, coastal, and sun-kissed finish that feels classic yet contemporary.

Cool-Toned Timbers

If you’re dreaming of a modern and moody interior, you can’t go past a cool-toned timber, ranging from ashy and light options like Royal Oak Floors Arctic Grey Oak Floorboards, to smokey mid-tone browns, and even rich black hues. Something like the Kustom Timber Black Comb Floorboards will pair beautifully with monochromatic fixtures and finishes, but can also turn your floor into a dramatic hero feature!
