In excellent news for Scandinavian-design lovers, acclaimed Danish furniture brand Wendelbo has opened its first-ever Australian showroom in Melbourne.
The new flagship space in Richmond marks the next chapter in Wendelbo’s decade-long partnership with leading local label, Trit House, who’ve helped bring its refined and timeless collections down under.
Despite the geographical distance, Denmark and Australia share a strong appreciation for design that feels human, relaxed, crafted with integrity and natural materials — something both brands recognised back in 2012.
‘From the outset, we recognised a natural alignment,’ Trit House founder Ivan Yoong says.
‘Australia’s love for warm, minimal, and liveable design made it the perfect home for Wendelbo.’
Inspired by Wendelbo’s Copenhagen headquarters, the storefront offers a fully immersive experience, where each piece stands out against a clean backdrop. The layout reveals curated vignettes instead of traditional showroom lines, inviting visitors to explore beautifully designed living spaces.
The launch also features the Australian debut of Reflections, a curated exhibition of the brand’s heritage, which first began in 1955 as a small family workshop specialising in upholstery.
Rather than revisiting archival designs, the showcase features new collaborations with acclaimed studios, including Norm Architects, Atlason Studio, and John Astbury, offering a fresh interpretation of the brand’s enduring aesthetic.
The showroom is a must-visit for designers, shoppers, and anyone with a penchant for interiors — proving great design knows no borders!
