Stockpile those fiddly single serve vegemite sachets and double check you’ve got your room key – Tim Ross and Kit Warhurst are taking us on a nostalgic trip to a quintessential Aussie motel as part of the Sydney Design Festival. Following their award-winning Man About the House show, Tim and Kit bring you a new show that takes us on a trip down memory lane to the motel holiday of yester-year.

Set in the perfectly preserved Beppi’s Cocktail Bar at the Town and Country Motel in Strathfield, the lovable duo use song and storytelling to transport you back to the 70s, to ‘road trips without air conditioning, collapsing folding beds, [and] Paddle pop sticks stuff down the back seat of the car.’

Rooms of the motel will be transformed into an immersive installation featuring art, film, photographic and automotive installations (don’t ask us how that last one works!) from contributors including Stephen Ormandy, Paul Davies, Claudia Damichi and photographer Derek Swalwell.
