Since launching in 1967, the local team at Sheridan has been designing quality bed linen, bath towels, robes, homewares, and accessories for the whole family.
More than 50 years later, the brand is still proudly based here in Australia, with in-house artisans creating the original artworks you see printed on these textiles every year.
In celebration of their joyful spring/summer collection, Sheridan is shining a spotlight on four creatives from their Sydney design studio who brought these patterns to life in a new series titled Meet The Maker.
Each designer has shared an insight into their unique process, career journey, and inspirations behind this season’s designs.
One of Sheridan’s senior textile designers, Clare, took cues from retro road trips to create the Juni reversible print, a playful, blue-toned floral that will bring a burst of energy to your home.
Willows by designer Flavia is another floral-filled pattern that nods to Sheridan’s beloved signature style. Influenced by still-life art, Flavia says her hand-painted design has been beautifully transformed into a digital print that makes the whole bed look like a work of art.
Having worked with Sheridan for an impressive nine years, Marc conjured up the Batteau print, a layered blue or red check splashed on a bold beach bag, pouch, towel and hat in the collection.
If pastel tones are more your style, accountant-turned-textile designer Agnes has used soft blues and pinks to create a geometric print inspired by vintage swimming pool tiles. Her Franzi print is available in a set of silky soft pyjamas, while the Tilley features on a pair of pillow cases or a reversible quilt cover that reveals two complementary colourways!
You can learn more about these clever creatives and their work in their Meet The Maker features on Sheridan’s website.
