It’s no secret we are BIG fans of Rone. Hello multi-award winner at The Design Files inaugural Design Awards in 2019! But even we can’t give as much coverage to our beloved Collingwood neighbour’s extensive career as this amazing new book from Thames + Hudson does.
Titled Rone, the eponymous coffee-table book showcases the Melbourne-based artist’s rise from his street art beginnings in the early 2000s to his groundbreaking multi sensory installation Empire at Burnham Beeches last year. The book contains work from the street and his studio over the last two decades, as well as a behind the scenes look at the large-scale murals and installations he is famous for!
This parade of images is bookended by essays exploring the recurrent themes in his work, delving deeper into the position between beauty and decay his pieces constantly assume. We love this immersive, thorough study of a Melbourne design legend!
