Remember last year when we told you to watch out for this revolutionary new tap design from local company Phoenix Tapware? Well, turns out we were on to something! The Axia collection cleaned up at international awards programs last year, and now the local brand’s newest range is looking just as promising.

Carrying on the Axia collection’s 2020 winning streak, the new Lexi MKII design has already scored awards at iF Design Awards and Red Dot Design Awards, the former of which also recognised Phoenix’s in-house design team as the second-best in Australia. Consisting of a bath outlet and variety of mixers for basins, sinks, showers and walls, each silhouette in the new collection combines round and geometric features. Whether a wall outlet or a standing tap, the slim, rectangular faucet panel with accompanying pin handle is noticeable for its slender profile and uncommon shape.

A brand new feature for the 30-year-old company is their newly developed Cold Start technology, which is built into the basin and vessel mixers. The new component defaults the water distribution from the faucet to cold to ensure hot water only flows when the handle is pulled right to the left, avoiding any unnecessary energy expenditure in accidentally heating water. The feat of fixture engineering has achieved a 6-star WELS rating for water efficiency.

All designs in the slick Lexi MKII collection come in either chrome, bushed nickel and matte black to fit seamlessly with any interior scheme!

The Lexi MKII range is available from Phoenix Tapware now. See the full range here.
