People of all ages, races, religions, sexualities and political views are invited to attend the North Melbourne School of Displacement. 

This is not a school as you know it, but rather, a casual and accessible place of learning. Throughout its duration, the school will host free expert talks honouring the ancient First Nations including discussions on homelessness, Indigenous languages, climate change, and Indigenous survival techniques. 

The program is being led by artist Keg de Souzae alongside collaborator Claire G. Coleman, Wirlomin Noongar author of the award-winning novel, Terra Nullius.

The North Melbourne School of Displacement will be held in a multi-coloured salvaged tent installation at the North Melbourne Town Hall. This installation was first displayed as part of the 2016 Biennale of Sydney, and will be open to view during designated hours outside of the school’s talks.  

North Melbourne School of Displacement is presented by Arts House as part of Refuge 2019: Displacement.
