In Alain de Botton’s deeply insightful book on modern love, The Course of Love, the British-Swiss philosopher contends that ‘…love is a skill, not just an enthusiasm’. In an upcoming event at Mercedes me, The School Of Life will be delving into the meaning behind common missteps in relationships in A Night of Better Conversations: Relationships.

First founded by Alain de Botton in 2008 and expanding to Melbourne in 2013, The School of Life is an educational organisation dedicated to developing emotional intelligence through psychology, philosophy, and culture. A Night of Better Conversations: Relationships casts a critical eye over human behaviour, and how our subconscious actions (or let’s face it, sometimes COMPLETELY conscious actions!) can negatively affect our relationships.

Explore key issues of relationships, challenge assumptions, practice self-awareness and begin to understand why we might fight and argue with those we love the most. Don’t worry, there will be alcohol available! Tickets here.
