Earlier this year we discovered the textured, playful works of Melbourne-based artist Morgana Celeste. And after a sell-out debut show, the emerging artist has been busy creating works for a second!

Titled ‘Memory Palace’, the solo exhibition explores escapism as a tool for coping. In the last few strenuous months under lockdown, Morgana created a new series of her distinct, three-dimensional canvases to represent her happy journey into memories, sensations and places during this time of isolation. The completely online show will be held at pépite.

Morgana’s unique combination of paper pulp, fine cement and acrylic paint produces distinct, textural pieces that celebrate the handmade form. By using these malleable materials, Morgana’s highly tactile pieces carry the imprints and mouldings of the hands that made them. In this way each artwork contains the memories of humanness, something we are all keen to remember during this time of social distancing!
