If the landmark Barbara Hepworth exhibition wasn’t reason enough to visit Heide Museum of Modern Art this summer, there’s an exciting second showcase on now at the gallery!

The new exhibition, wHole, curated by Heide’s Senior Curator Melissa Keys, brings together a range of diverse works from artists worldwide who share Hepworth’s fascination with masses, voids, piercings, and hollows – and what these empty spaces might signify.

It’s a rare chance to see pieces by boundary-pushing contemporaries including Anish Kapoor – the British-Indian artist behind some of the most iconic, public sculptures of today – and American painter Titus Kaphar.

Leading Australian artists including Ricky Swallow, Rosslynd Piggott, Mira Gojak,  S.J. Norman and more are also featured in the exhibition. There are some exciting new commissions, alongside historic works by one of Australia’s greatest female sculptors, Norma Redpath and a stunning slashed canvas of Argentine-Italian artist Lucio Fontana.
