‘Design Matters’ Host Debbie Millman Down Under For Melbourne Design Week!

3rd March, 2020

The American design expert and famed podcaster talks Courage vs. Confidence.

As a writer, designer, educator, artist, brand consultant and host of the smash-hit podcast Design Matters, Debbie Millman cares about design. A lot. But not just the kind you can put to a page and say, ‘hey, that’s design right there!’. Debbie has interviewed hundreds of creative guests on her award-winning podcast about how they have designed the arc of their lives in long-form conversations that deep-dive into their successes, failures and philosophies. Now in its fifteenth year, Design Matters is one of the world’s very first podcasts!

Next month, Debbie (who is based in New York) will be in Australia for Melbourne Design Week. In Courage Vs. Confidence, Debbie will share her thoughts on channeling courage on the road to success. ‘Courage is the foundation for authentic confidence,’ says Debbie. ‘Taking the first step creates courage, which will grow with every repetitive step you take.’ In this presentation, Debbie speaks about how she has shaped her own life to fit her personal definition of success using this concept. The conversation is presented by Creative Women’s Circle and will be moderated by Michaela Webb, Creative Director of Melbourne-based design practice, Studio Round.
