This weekend the gang over at Assemble are hosting a weekend-long spring fling to celebrate the change of seasons! Set against the industrial background of their latest project in Kensington, Blooming Spring will bring together a selection of Melbourne’s finest music, wine and food and of course, flowers, for a couple of leisurely Spring days.

Part one of Blooming Spring is a floral workshop with Cecilia Fox. Leading the charge of a new wave of creative florists coming up in Melbourne over the last few years, Melanie Stapleton of Cecilia Fox in Brunswick is known for her bold and intuitive floral creations. Mel will be leading two hands-on workshops, exploring modern floral arrangements for the home in a contemporary, urban context. Unfortunately, all tickets have sold out for this one but don’t worry! You can still immerse yourself in Mel’s botanical world in the second part of Blooming Spring – a day party!

Closing out the weekend will be a fam friendly day party at the same Kensington site, set amongst a Cecilia Fox floral installation, with wines provided by Kensington locals Blackhearts & Sparrows, Mexican street food from La Tortilleria and tunes courtesy of a live broadcast from community radio show Hope St Radio with DJs Brooke Powers and Jennifer Loveless. Entry is free, and family (including furry friends) are welcome!
