Inspired by her Grade 2 class project from 1996 (as you do!), the amazing Alice Oehr has slowly been collecting beloved recipes from family and friends to one day compile into a book. Now, six years and a pandemic later, it is complete!

Recipes with Friends is a spiral-bound collection of over 200 recipes, spanning sweets, savoury dishes and drinks. But there is no fancy food or elaborate cooking here! These are weeknight dinners and family recipes, some re-printed from a grandmother’s scrawl and others which were previously a secret! Think talking matzo ball soup, home-cured prosciutto, and *that* amazing prawn pasta your bestie that one time. The spiral-bound book was produced with Hungry Workshop on recycled paper with letterpressed covers in three different colourways. And of course, every recipe is finished off with a signature Alice Oehr illustration!

Alice was meant to be living in Milan this year so to fill her time, and stave off the maddening inertia, she threw herself into finishing the longterm project. ‘I foolishly collected, transcribed, edited, designed, laid out and illustrated the whole thing, which I would not recommend to anyone – even in a pandemic.’

Luckily for us, she did. And now, we have the perfect cooking companion!
