A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of traveling to Sydney with our video team at SIRAP, for yet another beautiful film shoot with Sheridan. This time we spent the day with talented floral designer Saskia Havekes, founder of Grandiflora, to document her latest collaboration with Sheridan.

The Sheridan x Grandiflora collection has been designed by Sheridan’s in house Design Studio, in collaboration with Saskia, and features two key quilt cover designs. The ‘Illume’ quilt cover is an understated, white-on-white jacquard weave design, honouring Saskia’s favourite flower (and her muse!), the magnolia grandiflora. ‘The Botanist’ on the other hand, is a painterly, detailed print of Australian botanicals, featuring unique illustrations hand-drawn by Sheridan’s Design Studio in Sydney.

In celebration of this collaboration, we were lucky to capture some of Saskia’s daily routine (including a 4am start time at the flower market!). She described her inspiring approach to floristry, and the joy she seeks to bring to people’s everyday lives through her work.

The film also features Sheridan’s Head Designer, Rebecca Burnard, who highlights Sheridan’s commitment to creative partnerships. This value was instilled in the company by its founder, Claudio Alcorso, when he founded the company in 1967.

Tracking Saskia’s morning at the markets, through to her studio in Potts Point, this film offers a colourful snapshot into her uplifting philosophy that ‘flowers speak their own language’. It is a beautiful demonstration of the partnership of two celebrated Australian brands.
