Our New Event Series 'Meet The Makers' @Mercedes me

Events

We hope you’ll bounce out of bed on an upcoming Friday or Saturday morning, to join us for an inspiring new series we’re hosting at Mercedes me in Melbourne!

Meet The Makers @ Mercedes me brings together some of our favourite creatives, who will chat with Lucy about their craft, and walk us through their unique creative process with live demonstrations. All up, we’ll be hosting 12 events(!) over the next six months, featuring a huge diversity of creative practitioners, from floristry to ceramics, weaving to hand lettering, furniture making to leathercraft, and more!

TODAY bookings are open for our first four events, taking place in August and September! The star-studded line-up includes weaver Tammy Kanat, calligraphy girl-gang The Letterettes, ceramicist Tantri Mustika, and florist Hattie Molloy.

All events are free, but seats are limited, so reserve your spot now!

Friday 20th July 2018

You may have heard about (or even attended – thankyou!) our TDF Talks @ Mercedes me over the past couple of months (…there are still a few seats left for our final event, with Tim Ross on July 31st!).

After such a wonderful reception, we’re heading back to the venue soon, with a new line-up of events: Meet The Makers @ Mercedes me!

These sessions are a little different, though; with just 15-30 tickets available per session, Meet The Makers will enable you to get up close with our creative guests, observing their techniques, hearing about their career path, and, in some cases, you’ll even have a chance to get involved. Hope to see you there!

Tammy Kanat

Having amassed a cult following, the weaver creates vibrant, textural woven artworks, using a distinctive circular loom.

The Letterettes
Friday, August 17th, 8.00am – 9.00am

Melbourne’s very own live-lettering girl group is a dynamic team of talented calligraphers, working across a huge variety of creative projects, collaborations, events and workshops.

Meet Wanissa Somsuphangsri and Kate Pullen, watch their wizardry in action, and learn brush-pen lettering basics in this demonstration and workshop.

Reserve your spot for the free event here.

Tantri Mustika
Saturday, September 1st, 11.00am – 12.00pm

The popular ceramicist has developed her own non-traditional techniques to create her distinctive terrazzo-inspired vases, vessels and homewares.
