Man Week · The Design Files Father's Day SHOP

In what has become an annual tradition since 2011, this week we’re running a bunch of bloke-inspired content in the lead up to Father’s Day – YES, it’s MAN WEEK!

This year, though, we’re doing something a little different. We’re pretty excited to launch our very OWN little online store, with our own edit of three inspired gift sets for Dads, available to buy online this week only!

So, if you’re still stuck for gift ideas for the man in your life this week, pop over to our temporary Father’s Day SHOP and check out our limited edition gift sets.  We’ll be shipping them tomorrow for delivery Australia-wide, just in time for Father’s Day!

MAN WEEK is a temporary hiatus from our usual focus on all things pretty and/or Pinterest-worthy! As the week plays out, we’ll be profiling a bunch of clever local designers and creative dudes, making things we think will appeal to the 3% of male readers who actually visit this website regularly (we love the 3%!).

Today, though, we’re kicking the week off with something NEW. It’s our very own little online store, featuring three gift sets curated by us, available to buy this week only, with delivery Australia-wide just in time for Father’s Day! (Order tomorrow August 30th, to guarantee delivery within Australia by this Friday).

We’ve tried to balance a cross section of locally designed pieces, alongside items sourced from a handful of our favourite local retailers and brands – all in all, these sets offer a thoughtful edit of stylish, functional pieces we hope will appeal to Dads far and wide!

The Eater

This gift set is designed for the man who loves to spend time in the kitchen. It will appeal to the man who appreciates a soft, absorbent 100% linen tea towel, as much as he does a solid handcrafted timber trivet. When we selected the elements for this gift set, we imagined a guy who likes to make his own strong coffee in the morning – sipped from the ultimate, generous, Dad-sized mug.

250g Seasonal Espresso from Market Lane ($16.00)

Mogu-Kagu Long Coffee Measuring Spoon from Minami ($65.00)

Brown Jasper Mug made in Melbourne by Robert Gordon ($28.95)

Kakuro Trivet White Oak by Sands Made  ($44.95)

100% Linen Tea Towel in No 1 Grey, made in Melbourne by Mr Draper  ($25.00)

Total Price – $179.90

The Traveller

This gift set is our edit of favourite accessories and locally made grooming products for a man who is often on the road. Including a robust canvas utility bag from Melbourne label All The Kings Men, and Native Union’s sleek black leather USB Tag Cable (for charging a mobile device from any USB power outlet).

Leather USB Tag Cable in Black by Native Union ($79.95)

Bro To Properly Clean foaming face wash by Go To ($31.00)

Canvas Utility Bag in Black from All The Kings Men ($75.00)

Normal Persons Daily Shampoo 300ml by Evo ($29.95)

Toothbrush from Muji ($4.00)

Total price – $199.90

The Thinker

This gift set is for the man who spends a lot of time at his desk. It is designed for the man whose appreciates both the form and function of everyday things – whether that be a sleek leather phone wallet (which also holds up to 5 credit cards), or a beautiful, sculptural brass letter holder, handcrafted in South Australia.

Moleskine Classic Click Ballpoint Pen Medium in Dark Green from Notemaker ($22.95)

Fold Letter Holder in Brass by Alice Potter for JamFactory ($65.00)

Phone Wallet for iPhone 6s in Black by Bellroy ($114.95)

Moleskine Workbook A4 Hard Cover Ruled Notebook in Black from Notemaker ($46.95)

Total price – $245.90
