If there's one thing we see regularly in our submissions inbox it's BEDLINEN. There is certainly no shortage of beautiful, locally designed options in this market... we really are spoilt for choice! However, it's not everyday you hear from a respected interiors stylist / TDF presenter / AIRLINE PILOT (yes, you read right), so when New Zealand based LeeAnn Yare wrote to to introduce her latest venture, well... our curiosity got the better of us!
LeeAnn really does take overachievement to a new level. Having trained as a pilot right out of high school, she currently flies Boeing 767's internationally. (My mind is basically blown already at this point, but let me continue...).
For the past 12 years LeeAnn has been lucky enough to combine her love of travel with her passion for interiors and design, by steadfastly developing a concurrent career as a freelance writer and stylist for various interiors magazines including Your Home & Garden, Homestyle, Urbis and House & Garden in New Zealand, Real Living, Home Beautiful and Inside Out in Australia, and Livingetc in the UK. All this she somehow juggles inbetween international flight routes - and did I mention, she's also married with two boys, aged 6 and 4.5?
Last year was especially busy for LeeAnn. She opened her own store, Collected, in Auckland's exciting Bloc retail space - a vibrantly colourful shop which houses LeeAnn's favourite local homeware brands as well as some of her own product collaborations. Last October also marked the release of her first book, New Zealand Interior Style, published by Penguin. As if all this wasn't enough, this year LeeAnn has also made her TV debut, as a judge on Mitre 10 Dream Home, a NZ renovation show.
SOMEHOW amongst all this madness, LeeAnn seems to have also found time to design her very own bedlinen range, which launches very soon! The range combines bold, geometric pattern with an old favourite - classic polka dots, striking a happy balance between colour crazy and soft and pretty.
'The range is really just my answer to thousands of customer requests!' explains LeeAnn, who has collaborated previously with Kiwi designer Hayley Pearce of The Art Room on a range of popular pillowcase sets. LeeAnn will be adding new designs and colourways to the bedlinen range on a regular basis, and not surprisingly, she has many more product collabs planned for the Collected Brand over the coming year. Watch this space!
The full linen range hasn't quite hit stores yet, but will be available in April - until then, its available for presale via LeeAnn's website. Each of piece is sold separately so you can buy exactly what you need, right down to a single pillowcase.
