DEAREST readers! Today is the LAST proper post for the year! Next week we're taking a much needed break, and instead of our usual posts we'll be re-visiting our TOP TEN Australian Homes from next Monday until Friday Jan 3rd (2 weeks). We'll be back to normal programming on Monday Jan 6th!
So to cap off this amazing year, rather than the usual Friday interview, we thought we'd finish with something special - I am very excited to share our little film about this year’s epic TDF Open House! Once again this year, we teamed up with my dear friend, film maker Jessica Leski, who directed and edited this film. Thankyou SO MUCH Lesk!
Thankyou also to you ALL, dear readers, for your amazing support of this project, for the third year running! SO MANY of you visited Open House this year, and we were especially chuffed to have such an amazing response for our first Sydney event!
It was no mean feat pulling off the two events back to back, so for this year's film we thought it might be fun to condense the main 30 days of Open House into a 4 minute behind the scenes film, showing you just how the project took shape, from receiving all the stock, the first bump in, to opening night, trading days, bump out, travelling to Sydney, bumping in again, opening again, bumping out again etc etc... you get the idea! The film documents the amazing efforts of our tireless crew... Oh mannnn.... I feel tired just watching it!
IF you have trouble viewing the film above, please pop over and view it on VIMEO! At full screen, even. (I know, I know, I look exhausted. Hey, it was a big month!). PLEASE do have a look, and if you like what you see, please share!
Thanks also to the super talented local band THE VANNS who have generously allowed usage of their music for this film. Please show your support by taking a moment to check out their EP on iTunes – we are so grateful for their support!
Shot, directed and edited by Jessica Leski
Additional camera and grading – Michael Sax / Saxall Design Studio
Stills – Brooke Holm and Phu Tang
Music - 'Don't Hold Me Back' by The Vanns

I am struggling not to do the whole enormous Open House thankyou list again… to all our amazing staff, friends, boyfriends, family - THANKYOU! Massive thanks in particular to our Major Event Sponsors without whom there would be no Open House at all - Jardan, Mini, Dulux, Country Roadand Petaluma! We are so grateful for their support of this project!
Also huge thanks to all the amazing artists, designers and local businesses who have participated and supported this crazy venture once again this year – especially Cookes Food and Mario's Kitchen who cooked up a storm for our opening events in each city, Market Lane Coffee in Melbourne and Paramount Coffee Project in Sydney for keeping us and our patrons caffeinated, and our amazing publicists Esther at The Project Agency and Ollie, Matt and Emma at EVH PR in Sydney.
AND FINALLY. The winner of our TDF Open House Instagram Competition!
Thankyou ALL for your amazing support of Open House via INSTAGRAM - your coverage was incredible! I just literally trawled through over 4000 images on the #TDFOpenHouse hashtag, and we have drawn a winner - @georgie_geelock is the lucky winner of the beautiful framed Miranda Skoczek artwork, as seen below. (Georgie please drop us an email to arrange for delivery / collection of your prize!).
Massive thanks to everyone for all your amazing entries... we loved seeing them all! Some of our faves are pictured above!
Ok, that's me signing off for 2013 - our biggest year yet! Thankyou all for your readership, support and encouragement this year and always. You really are the absolute BEST. x
