Today we're joined again by Simone Haag of Melbourne design firm Hecker Guthrie, who shares her pick of fabulous design products for the great outdoors!  COME ON SUMMER, are we nearly there yet...!?

Hunt / Gather: The Great Outdoors product edit by Simone Haag / Hecker Guthrie.

At Hecker Guthrie, our passion isn't just for for interiors and buildings - we're equally enthusiastic about outside spaces, and it is fair to say that we see what surrounds ones' home as equally important to what is inside it.  So in the lead up to summer (we hope!?) we have gathered some fabulous outdoorsy pieces for you to covet. Today’s post has been brought together with the help of Annabel Smart from HG - check out the overflow of garden goodness and other design finds on her cracking Pinterest pages here!  – Simone

1. Ariane Out Lamp by Ligne Roset from Domo ($446) - Many would know Ligne Roset for their beautiful furniture, but few may know that they also have a covetable range of lamps & accessories. We love the Ariane Out lamp as it adds a gentle ambient light to any garden.  It's a versatile piece which can be hung overhead using the supplied hook, placed on a table or nestled amongst low lying foliage on the ground to illuminate any outdoor soiree.

2. Shady Lace Parasol by Droog Design from The Design Dispensary ($440) - With its delicate mesh  canopy, the Shady Lace Parasol mimics dappled sunlight filtered through leafy trees.  With its sweet bird detail on top, this pieces adds a touch of Alice in Wonderland whimsy to any outdoor space.

3. Sandi Rocking Chair from Domayne ($299) - The Sandi outdoor rocking chair from Domayne is affordable stylish outdoor seating option, designed with a sturdy powder coated aluminium frame, and comfy headrest built into the seat. We love its contemporary silhouette in black, though its also available in white with striped seat, or bold orange.

4. On-the-Move Large Side Table from Cane Line Australia ($565) - Cane Line is a Danish furniture manufacturer, which has representation down under. They have a great range of outdoor furniture, such as this ‘On-the-Move’ table, which is a versatile outdoor piece with easy to grab handle and removable tray.  Cane Line's indoor range is also well worth a look, particularly the Sidd chair - it's a beauty!

5. Flora Grubb enamel-dipped trowel (US $28 / set of two) - For the gardener who likes their tools as handsome and colourful as their garden beds, enter these Japanese made stainless steel trowels, dipped in vivid orange enamel by Flora Grubb.

6. BacSac Planter from Kif and Katast (4-quadrant planter $199) - These light weight planters by French brand BacSac come in a range of shapes and sizes, making them the perfect solution for an 'instant garden' on terraces or balconies. They're available in Melbourne from Kif and Katast.

7. Druida BBQ grill by Mermelada Estudio - Designed by Spanish design studio Mermeladsa Estudio, the Druida is a BBQ grill is an elegant piece designed with smaller outdoor spaces in mind.  This piece doesn't yet have an Australian distributor (hence we have no price for you yet, sorry!) but the studio have let us know they will take orders from Australia, for fufilment in January - get in touch via the Mermelada website.

8. Helios BBQ Set from Design Within Reach (US $106) - And for every good-looking BBQ grill, there should be an equally good-looking BBQ set. The Hellios Grill set is designed by Danish designer Niels Hvass and includes a fork, spatula and tongs fashioned from stainless steel and solid teak.

 9. X3 Watering Can from Kontextur (US $49) - One of the prettiest watering cans we've seen, the X3 watering can from Kontextur is crafted from a single piece of metal tubing, which has been bent three times, hence its name. It comes in a range of finishes (we also love to smart metallic bronze version).  This is a watering can you won't mind leaving out on display.

10. Gold Hose from Garden Glory (EU €110) - Pitched at ‘glamorous people with dirty nails’, these Garden Glory hoses come in a range of colours, but we couldn't resist the ‘gold digger’!

11. LuLu chair from Jardan ($1470)- The Jardan Yogi table featured in our recent 'Camping Cool' edition of Hunt / Gather, so to round things off, here is the Lulu chair, which sits very nicely not only with the Yogi table but also Jardan's Bo table.  We love the tactile elements used in this functional, friendly piece - seen here in a powdercoated steel frame and seat, with solid Spotted Gum arms and back rail.

12. HK Living Rattan Chair from House of Orange ($399) - We love this rattan chair from HK Living, available locally through House of Orange.  We recently specified this piece for The Beach Club in Cottesloe, Perth - it works equally well inside or out.

13. Flamingo from Terrace Outdoor Living ($55 for a pair) - Terrace Outdoor Living is a fabulous Sydney based retail store with a great online shop, selling everything from fire pits to pots and pink flamingoes!  This cheerful guy comes as a pair, and would add a pop of colour and fun to any outdoor space.

14. Chelsea Outdoor Wall Light by Dunlin Home ($428) - Made by hand in Oxford, England, by a two hundred year old lighting firm, the Chelsea wall light is built to last a lifetime.  It sits equally as comfortably in a traditional, contemporary or industrial setting.

15. CS Cylinder Planter with timber legs by Modernica from Top3 by Design ($315) - With its ceramic pot and lightweight elevated timber base, the CS Cylinder planter from US design studio Modernica has unmistakable retro appeal.  Channelling a 1950's aesthetic, this piece is equally at home in mid-century or contemporary surrounds.

16. LHASA Outdoor Rug from Terrace Outdoor Living ($65) - Another great find from Sydney based Terrace Outdoor Living, these fabulous outdoor rugs are made of recycled polypropylene, which can work equally well indoors or out. Perfect for an eclectic outdoor room, and for softening hard outdoor surfaces such as concrete or decking.  These come in a variety of sizes.
