Ok I've posted about Sydney based online store The Minimalist before, but today we thought it was worth paying them another quick visit, because they've just launched a brand new website, and I am so impressed by their super stylish new product range - a mix of locally sourced and international design finds.
The Minimalist was launched early in 2012 by husband and wife team Leah and Darius Taylor. In just over a year of operation, they've successfully staged two pop-up shops in Sydney to support their online offering - there's one in the works for Melbourne too... stay tuned!
It's also been really encouraging to see The Minimalist flying the flag for Australian design internationally. Due to an encouraging response from international customers, Leah and Darius were inspired to launch a New York based arm of their business.
'The overwhelming success of our Australian made pieces internationally inspired us to launch a New Yorked-based sister site for all of our wonderful customers in the United States and beyond, who have waited so patiently for parcels to arrive all the way from Australia' says Leah. The Australian collection includes some of our favourite local designers - Daniel + Emma, Pony Rider and Blacklist Studio.
Due to the interest from US customers, Leah and Darius have their sights set on even bigger things later this year. 'New York is our next big adventure, with a pop up store planned for later in the year' says Leah. 'We wanted to use The Minimalist in Australia to bring together the best and most unique, handmade product we could find from across the globe, and now we have the opportunity to take unique Australian product internationally too. We couldn’t be happier!'
AMAZING work by this very clever and very driven Sydney duo. Best of luck in New York guys!
