Local maker Zenn Design has built its reputation on creating high quality, customisable furniture right here in Melbourne, and their latest offering — the Archie stool — is no exception!

The original concept for the Archie came about when the Zenn Design team were looking for a stool to complete their Caulfield South showroom. They enlisted the help of interior designer Cassandra Walker, who came up with a concept for one they could handcraft in-house.

The team loved the resulting design so much, it was immediately added to their furniture range.

‘Zenn Design has a passion for producing some of the most considered, high quality furniture in Australia. We saw a need for a highly functional, contemporary bar stool within our offering, and worked with our talented team on prototyping to refine the perfect stool!’, says director of Zenn Design, Hannah Goldberg.

The Archie features a plush upholstered seat, to ensure maximum comfort, and a slim steel frame with an arched handle, which makes the piece easy to move and doubles as a clever back-stop.

In line with Zenn Design’s ethos, which is all about offering essential pieces that fill gaps in the furniture market, the stool was created to be equal parts functional and beautiful in any space — whether that’s in a sleek at-home bar or at the kitchen island bench.

Versatility is another key component to this design, which can be customised in the brand’s extensive range of frame finishes and seat fabrics.  It’s also available in an outdoor version, with suitable fabrics and a steel frame developed to withstand the elements.

The Zenn Design team have expertly curated a choice of five different seat and frame combinations for effortless online customisation, ready to deliver in just four to six weeks.
