The Lighthouse Foundation is a seriously impressive organisation. Based in Melbourne on Wurundjeri Country, the not-for-profit has been working to support young people experiencing homelessness, many of whom have suffered a range of abuse, trauma and neglect, for the last 30 years. They do some AMAZING community work that deserves our support!
Their latest campaign, Break The Pattern, uses the bright, positive imagery of renowned artists Ken Done and Cassie Byrnes to bring awareness to the darker issues surrounding youth homelessness. For a small tax deductible donation (as little as $2!) you can access two brilliant artworks – ’Basalt’ by Cassie Byrnes and ‘Cobalt Reef’ by Ken Done – available to download and use as limited-edition phone, tablet, computer and social media backgrounds and screensavers! Businesses can also get in on supporting the campaign and will be able to access digital artworks for all their team members (hello Zoom background update!) + more.
All funds raised through the Break The Pattern campaign will go directly to the Lighthouse Foundation. Donations will be used to support young people with counselling and trauma informed therapy, to provide education resources and support services, to purchase bedding and essential items for a new young person entering care, and to pay for the utilities and upkeep of Lighthouse homes.
This is SUCH a brilliant initiative – get around it!
