Food For Everyone is a newly established not-for-profit culinary poster shop. Launched by Lucy Folk alum Gemma Leslie, the organisation is selling limited-edition posters to raise funds for food relief organisation, Fare Share.
As a communications specialist (and all-round design whiz!), Gemma designs and illustrates the prints herself. Each Food For Everyone poster contains a signature recipe from a local Melbourne chef inside its retro-inspired graphic – think handmade tiramisu or pappardelle with prawns and zucchini. With a lineup including Clementine Day, Ellie Bouhadana of Ellie’s Table, artist and chef Suzanne Corbett, and our very own food columnist Julia Busuttil Nishimura for its first drop – who could resist?
Food For Everyone donates 100% of the profits from each poster sale to Fare Share, a volunteer organisation operating Australia’s largest charity kitchen. By reclaiming surplus food from supermarkets and other retailers to make free, nutritious meals for people experiencing food insecurity, Fare Share tackles the dual problems of waste and urban poverty at once. The charity cooks more than 6,000 meals a day to supply soup vans, homeless shelters, women’s refuge centres and community food banks.
Pre-orders for the $80 posters are open from today and close September 10. Food For Everyone works on a purely pre-order system, meaning this two-week period is the only window to order within, so don’t sleep on it too long!
