Exploring the vastly diverse perspectives of Australians, entries to the City of Sydney’s annual photo competition are now open!

Responding to the theme ‘Australian Life’, the annual photo competition has been running for more than 15 years, collecting an insightful album of photographs that reflect the vast scope of Australian experiences. ‘We want to see Australian life through your lens,’ the City of Sydney say, ‘We’re looking for engaging and intriguing photos that depict Australia beyond the icons.’

Open to Australian residents and permanent citizens, the competition invites participants to submit their response to the theme. Novice and professional photographers alike are free to capture Australian Life wherever and however they choose, from ‘everyday occurrences, fleeting moments, unusual places, comical characters, celebrations or rituals, natural or artificial environments.’

The competition carries a $10,000 prize for the winner, as well as $500 for each finalist. All winning works will be exhibited in Hyde Park north, from September 19th to October 6th, 2019. Entries close on June 16th – don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity!
