Melbourne is full of amazing independent creatives but getting to shop from many of them in one place is rare. For the past few months, creative studio and space Alt-House has been bringing together some of our favourite local makers and artists for their pop-up events, and there’s another one on this Saturday!
The carefully curated 005 Abode line-up features stalls of hand-crafted ceramics, sculptures and quirky homewares.
Shop candelabras by At The Table, sculptures by Studio Ennui, the colourful lamps by Fisch and rugs by Dom Rossi. You’ll also find one-of-a-kind creations from ceramicists like by Ella Reweti, Elena Strohfeldt and Lucy Tolan at Alt-House’s converted warehouse in Fitzroy.
It’s the fifth instalment of Alt-House’s successful Alt-Curated events, designed to spotlight Melbourne’s thriving creative community.
‘With most small businesses operating solely in an online presence, facilitating the chance for customers to meet the makers and designers behind these beautiful products and touch, smell or try them on in real life seemed like a great way to support our local community of creatives,’ Alt-House director Jess Broheir explains.
Jess says the other pop-ups have had about 500-800 people visit across the day – so consider this your warning to come early!
Visit the 005 Abode pop-up from 10am – 4pm this Saturday September 17.
