Pops of Pink

Bathrooms, being generally small and enclosed, are a great room to play with colour. Pink is the perfect hue for such a space, with its warm and inviting tone, it sets the scene for relaxation (with just a hint of playfulness).

Muted, dusty pinks, like Tiento’s Fornace Tile in cinnamon or Artedomus’ Arute Shinrin Tiles in pink are an easy neutral hue to work into the bathroom, and can be used liberally without overpowering the space. These hues also work best with chrome fixtures, like Sussex Taps’ Circa Basin Sink Hob Mixer Set.

If taking pink from floor to ceiling is not an option, bring this rosy hue into the space through a statement tiled bench or singular wall. Terrazzo is a great option here, try Fatima’s Reflection, Pavlova or Assemblage from Fibonacci and pair it with gold fixtures like the Milli Pure Wall Basin Hostess System from Reece.

Gorgeous Greens

When it comes to colour-drenching a bathroom, green might just be the best hue for the job.

There’s a verdant spectrum to choose from, including soft, muted greens, like Tiento’s Melange Tile in Salvia; sage-inspired hues like Tiento’s Romano Brick Tile; or brighter, earthy tones like Artedomus’ Arute Chifu Tile.

Green pairs well with timber, so opt for a vanity like Reece’s Arc Vanity in Red Tulip Oak.

For tapware, choose finishes with a similar undertone to your main green hue. For example, pair warm emerald and khaki greens with brass or gold fixtures; and muted, cooler greens with chrome or brushed nickel.

Country Charm

Bathrooms with a classic country style are often styled around a base of warm neutral hues.

Timber and cream are the perfect match for this look. Don’t forget to bring in plenty of texture to add interest to this neutral base. Try Tiento’s Moroccan Zellige Tile in Blanc and Reece’s Kado Aspect Wall Hung Vanity Unit.

This style also relies on the finishing touches to bring it together. Opt for a more classic and traditional look with Phoenix’s Cromford Wall Basin set in brushed gold and Robert Gordon’s Ceramic Oyster Wall Sconce.

Small pops of muted colour can be brought in through details such as the basin — try Robert Gordon’s Kiln 515 Ceramic Above Counter Rectangle Basin in Rivergum or Olive — and styling touches like towels and bathmats.

Wabi Sabi

Wabi-sabi style puts an emphasis on simplicity and natural materials — making it a great option for a bathroom where rest and relaxation is key.

Pair a neutral, textured tile, like Tiento’s Aru Wall Tile in snow, with rich timber such as Laminex Natural Walnut 068, and streamlined, clean fixtures.

Nothing should be too fussy or overdone. Look to the clean lines in Phoneix’s Heated Triple Towel Rail and the Vivid Slimline Floor Mounted Bath Mixer with Hand Shower.

And for the styling, remember less is more.

Monochrome

Sometimes, you can’t beat a classic. For bathrooms that crave a slightly more luxurious and elegant approach, a monochrome palette could be the way to go.

This look is all about finding moments of contrast within a pared back palette.

Start with a neural base of grey or white — but invite interest with texture and pattern by opting for either a slab of stone like Artedomus’ Elba to bring some wow factor, or a terrazzo tile, such as Fibonacci’s Flannel Flower with its gentle mix of warm grey and fresh white Carrara.

Bring in edgy pops of black and charcoal in the larger items, like cabinetry — try Laminex Blackend Legno 144 — and a wall mounted vanity, such as Reece’s ISSY Blossom Vanity.

Keep fixtures sleek and minimal, in either matte black or brushed gunmetal.
