‘The kids’ cubby is a little servery with mini kitchen inside and a rooftop water slide, which the kids love so much. The adults’ cubby is essentially a lounge, with a big daybed and bar area. It’s the perfect spot for some spicy coconut margaritas on a Saturday afternoon while the kids are playing shop,’ Sophie says. Photo – Jessie Prince

‘Bell finished the whole build just before Christmas, so we hosted our family Christmas Day feast in the adult cubby, and it was incredibly special,’ Sophie adds. Photo – Jessie Prince

You might recognise Sophie Bell’s distinctive home, Casa Campana, from Instagram, as the dreamy pad has been the backdrop for plenty of photo shoots and fashion campaigns popping up all over the Internet.

Sophie and her husband Michael Bell recently decided to add in a cubby house for their kids on the idyllic Northern New South Wales property, and got chatting with the Three Balls Red team about what tiles might work for their vision of the space.

‘One thing led to another and the idea of doing our own custom artwork on the tiles came to life,’ Sophie says. ‘Before we knew it, we moved from designing tiles for our own space, to designing a Peppa Hart collection for Three Balls Red!’

Inspired by Sophie’s travels and summery coastal locations in Italy and Greece, the bespoke ceramic tiles feature her ‘perfectly imperfect’ hand-drawn artwork and were printed locally in Queensland.

‘We worked on the range for a few months, playing with patterns, colours, layouts and most importantly the overall feel. These tiles feel like a little slice of Europe in our own home,’ Sophie adds.

The exclusive Paradiso range includes five tile designs: Lola Check, Mimi, Cisco, Coco and Paloma, which incorporates Peppa Hart’s signature sun emblem. They also collaborated with Three Balls Red on a stylish DIY Crazy Pave Tile and the Bambino Checkerboard Tile.

‘I love designing with colour and pattern, and I envisioned this range bringing fun to people’s homes using exactly that…  colour and pattern! The range was created to inject a sweet pop of fun into what is a predominately white space.’

Bell incorporated the resulting tiles into their kids’ cubby house project, which wound up expanding to include an accompanying ‘adult’s pavilion’ with a big daybed and bar area! Obsessed!
