OK you might recall recently we introduced the beautiful work of new Melbourne start-up MadeMeasure, a collaboration between Christina Terenski and Paul Kinny. Together, Paul and Christina design and create high quality handcrafted leather door handles, pulls and accessories from their busy little studio in Brunswick.
WELL, call me an opportunist, but after checking out their exquisite work whilst researching our initial story, I was so impressed, I couldn't help but ask Paul and Christina if they might be keen to do a little collab especially for TDF Open House. I am SO THRILLED they accepted this mission! The result is a beautiful little range of leather iPad envelopes, made in two complementary colour ways (I can't decide which is my favourite!), which are truly so glam, they could even double as an evening clutch.
It was so great working with Christina and Paul - we were totally on the same page from the start. 'Lucy presented us with a shape she liked, and we worked closely with her on functionality, form and structure' says Paul, MadeMeasure's master craftsman! 'It was fun to take on a brave approach with colour for this project. We spent time with Lucy at our leather supplier playing with a myriad of hues and textures until we landed the right combinations' says Christina. Indeed we did. And THEN we found so many good colours, we couldn't stop at one envelope... so poor Paul ended up with not one but two colour combos to produce!
The MadeMeasure for TDF Leather iPad case has been created in a very limited edition, there have only been TEN of these babies made (five in each colourway) especially for us! They're priced at $200 each, and only come in regular (ie large) iPad size at his stage. Look out for them at Open House in Melbourne later this week (we'll take a few to Sydney too!). Oh lord... my personal Open House shopping list keeps escalating... I am not sure I can avoid keeping at least one of these for myself...!
