As you might recall, I am a pretty huge fan of Melbourne creative agency The Jacky Winter Group, and in particular I'm always in awe of JW head honcho - Jeremy Wortsman. He is pretty much a guru in my book. (And he's from New York which of course makes him instantly 200% more interesting than the rest of us).
Jeremy launched The Jacky Winter Group in 2007. In just five years since then, the agency has grown from twelve artists (managed from Jeremy’s bedroom!) to over 140(!!) creatives across a diverse range of disciplines, from illustration to storyboard art, animation, and now - photography! (see The Twitchery for more!). Under the Jacky Winter umbrella, Jeremy also runs the Lamington Drive gallery, which showcases a varied calendar of exhibitions and artwork by Jacky Winter artists.
Jacky Winter is all grown up these days. The agency is now based from a massive warehouse studio in Collingwood, and has an excellent team of four staff, all of whom are suspiciously goodlooking. With especially perfect hair. I am not making this up, people. (Photographic proof above for your viewing pleasure - I am firmly convinced this is the most photogenic workplace in Melbourne).
So yes, Jeremy is one clever cookie. And he has SO many valuable pearls of wisdom to share with you all on the Guest Blog this week!
Each day Jeremy will chat with a different artists and/or team member from The Jacky Winter Group - shedding a little light on the inner workings of this inspiring creative agency. It's a must read for any creative business owner! Do pop over each day to see what JW has to share!
Jeremy is kicking things off today with a little chat to Karan Singh - one of Jacky Winter's most in-demand illustrators, originally from Melbourne but now based in New York.
PS. Don't forget, Jacky Winter's first ever creative conference - Field Trip is happening this Friday in Melbourne! There are seriously about 6 tickets left I am not joking. Get in whilst you still can!
