The Pumpkin Swivelling Armchair is characteristic of Pierre Paulin’s revolutionary design style. As its name suggests, this Ligne Roset armchair is evocative of a giant pumpkin, welcoming the user with its protectively voluptuous – and voluptuously protective – shell.
Originally created by Pierre Paulin for Ligne Roset in 1971, the Pumpkin Swivelling Armchair was designed for the private apartments of Claude and Georges Pompidou, at the Elysée Palace. It has since been put into large-scale production.
