The 2025 Dulux Colour Forecast has revealed the trending colours we’re set to see more of next year.

Led by the Dulux Colour Team — Colour and Communications Manager Andrea Lucena-Orr, Colour Manager Lauren Treloar and Colour Forecaster Stylist Bree Leech — the annual forecast takes into consideration year-round trends and current events to determine three unique palettes Australians are gravitating towards.

The latest forecast suggests we’ll be embracing ‘uplifting and soothing colours’, using warm, brown undertones to create calming interior spaces. But greens and rich burgundy hues are also quickly rising in popularity.

‘One of the most significant shifts this year is the increase in warm neutrals across the three palettes. During uncertain times we often see a move towards muted colours and calming pastels that help make us feel grounded and provide a sense of relief from everyday stresses,’ Andrea says.

Take a closer look at each of the palettes below!

Recollect

Moody but traditional, Dulux Recollect features yellow-based greens and deep olive shades like Dulux Zingiber alongside rich wine accents ranging from Dulux Grapeshot to Dulux Plum Sauce, which Andrea tips will be one of 2025’s most popular colours, thanks to it’s sophistication and cosy aura.

Andrea notes this palette is all about filling your home with personality by drawing on heritage styles and vintage design pieces.

We especially love how Dulux Olive Blend looks when styled with contrasting velvet furnishings, while the forecast also suggests enhancing this palette with clashing patterns, pops of red, and glossy finishes for a touch of ‘modern glamour’.

Still

Driven by our desire to appreciate life in the slow lane, Dulux Still has an instant calming effect. As the forecast’s most subdued palette, it’s filled with neutrals featuring brown undertones, including Dulux Clay Court, alongside lighter hues of Dulux Mellow Beige and much-loved classics like Dulux Antique White U.S.A.

There’s also a range of darker, nature-inspired tones, such as Dulux Night Hawk and Dulux Pesto, emphasising the rise of biophilic design trends that bring the outside world into your home.

Stylist Bree Leech says this palette really comes to life when paired with stone pieces, organic-shaped furniture, and textural fabrics. Think ‘understated luxury’ with a focus on sustainability and quality craftsmanship!

Emerge

Dulux Emerge is defined by an uplifting set of pared-back pastels, using soft greens, mauves and a deep red to create joyful interiors, without overwhelming a space.

Some of the ‘feel-good’ colours include Dulux Terracotta Chip and Dulux Lemon Blast, as muted purple-blues like Dulux Justice also emerge as a new colour trend for 2025.

While painting a room in any of these shades is guaranteed to fill the space with optimistic energy, the Dulux team notes you can also bring this trend into your home by simply selecting decorative objects, lamps, or soft furnishings in similar tones.

Visually, this look suits expressive rounded forms, free-flowing lines, and quirky artworks that lean into the palette’s whimsical atmosphere.
