Cheryl Mainland came across this Armadale house during an extensive property search two years ago.  The entrepreneur was living in the US at the time, and this home perfectly reflected her family’s past and next stage in Melbourne.

‘We wanted the industrial and spatial feel of a New York loft/warehouse with high ceilings and lots of windows, but something that was beachy (but not necessarily on the beach) and sun drenched,’ says Cheryl. ‘Something “homey” that the kids could grow up in, and an unbelievably convenient location. This was IT!’

The modern home spans two carefully planned storeys that are divided into wings. The main living domain is upstairs, taking advantage of leafy treetop views, northern light, and adjoining terrace. Two further living spaces are downstairs comprising a sitting area with bi-fold doors opening to a north-facing courtyard before a library/family area.

Each floor has two bedrooms, including the main with an en suite and walk-in wardrobe strategically positioned downstairs away from the living areas.

Cheryl recently worked with EatBatheLive to renovate the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as renowned interior designer and stylist Simone Haag to decorate the interiors. The result is bold yet relaxed, bringing together an extensive furniture collection sourced all over the world. Cheryl says the end result retains a New York loft feel with added ‘always summer’, ‘family lifestyle’, and ‘gallery space’ vibes!

‘A lot of the furniture and fittings are custom designed for the home by Simone Haag and her team and I’m obsessed with it all. We are open to selling some of it to the buyer – because it is perfect for the house,’ says Cheryl.

The home’s location is also a major asset, being located on a quiet street opposite Union Street Gardens. All amenities are just a five minute walk away, including High Street, Glenferrie Road, trains, and trams.

It’s time for this global nomadic family’s next move, so their fantastic house is now on the market. If you’re seeking a newly-renovated home with flair and a stellar location, look no further!

29 Stuart Street Armadale, VIC is being sold with Kay & Burton via expressions of interest closing Tuesday March 1 at 5pm. Check out the full listing.
