Victorian Charm Meets Dramatic Modern Luxury In This Princes Hill Home For Sale

From the street this Princes Hill home looks like a classic Victorian terrace, but don’t let its unassuming facade fool you. Behind the front door is an expansive, one-of-a-kind home featuring so many modern, custom made elements across two storeys.

When the current owner of this Princes Hill home first purchased it in 2013, it had been in the same family for 47 years, and was in a completely derelict state. Since then, they have embarked upon a major renovation and created their dream home, sparing no expense in bringing a bit of glitz and glam to this leafy locale.

Every room in this house has its own distinct personality, with design inspiration found across the globe – from a New York-loft style library, to a charming Tuscan courtyard and a French-style rooftop terrace that overlooks the city skyline.

Luxury and entertainment are both key factors in this home’s appeal, with many unique and surprising elements throughout the home. Upstairs, the main bedroom suite features a floor to ceiling marble bathroom (including a complete marble Roman steam room), a walk-in robe, as well as an indoor/outdoor entertainment area with its own kitchen. Downstairs, the sprawling Italian Arclinea kitchen features dual ovens, integrated appliances, a full-length wine fridge and a large butler’s pantry. The dining room connects to a private courtyard for ultimate indoor/outdoor living, while a secure rear garage bookends the property.

Perhaps the most intriguing feature on this home is the 1000 bottle wine cellar tucked into a 1930s-style speakeasy bar hidden on the basement floor. This house is literally built for a good time!
