Situated in the picturesque vineyards of Victoria’s Gippsland, King Valley, and Macedon wine regions, Wine Down Pop Up hotel encourages visitors to take things a little slower. Taking up a tiny footprint, the micro accommodation has been transformed from an upcycled shipping container, with sustainability in mind without compromising comfort.
Anatoly Mezhov and Irene Polo are the team behind Contained, the company responsible for this remarkable transformation. With a philosophy to make better use of land with minimal impact for ‘people to escape, live, work, and play on their own terms’, Contained specialises in converting disused shipping containers, to create meaningful environments through ‘sustainable, innovative, quality and cost-effective design and construction’.
Features of the pocket-sized pad include a plush queen bed made cosy with Cultiver linen, a private bathroom fully stocked with natural skincare brand Hunter Lab, as well as a private deck to enjoy picturesque vineyard views.
Teaming up with Visit Victoria, this novel micro hotel will be popping up at three locations over the next four months. Starting its journey in South Gippsland at Waratah Hills vineyard in April, it will make its way to Dal Zotto in the King Valley for a month in May, finishing the tour in Macedon’s Mount Towrong in July. Be sure to book your stay soon – it won’t be around for long!
