A Virtual Visit Of Como By Design

After a few false starts, it feels like spring has truly arrived today, with blue unclouded skies and a spritely energy in the air.  It’s perfect atmosphere for this weekend’s Como by Design event, an incredible collaborative project by Melbourne’s interior design community, all under one (iconic) roof.

Today we take a whirlwind tour through this mind blowing menagerie: 26 of the best interior designers in the business show off their skills. If you missed out on seeing Harry and Megan this week, a visit to Como House this weekend could very well be the next best thing!

The level of detail and luxury in the Como by Design showrooms is almost too much for one photograph to capture! Tigger Hall, the brainchild behind this interiors extravaganza, explained ‘it has long been a dream of mine to run an event like this, to showcase the wonderful talents of interior designers in Melbourne, and to bring together and celebrate the design community under one roof.’

And what a roof it is! The iconic Como House has inspired 26 interior designers, who have each brought their distinctive style to this grand old house. They’ve filled each room with customised furniture, lighting and decorative flourishes, with no corner left un-styled, or surface left without a vase of fragrant spring blooms.

The weekend of old-world interiors inspiration includes a series of seminars titled ‘the Voice of Como’, featuring a stellar line-up of Melbourne and international design gurus including celebrated landscape designer Paul Bangay, legendary UK interior designer Nina Campbell, artist Miranda Skoczek, and our very own interiors columnist Lauren Li, amongst many others.

Como by Design promotes craftsmanship and the bespoke makers of Melbourne, in an environment which inspires awe and excitement for visitors. Tigger explains ‘it is about education for the public and young designers, to see a room completed with beautiful fabrics and artisan pieces, often only available to them in magazines.’ While this LOOKS like a beautiful magazine spread, we promise it is real!
