Designed and built by our talented and insanely hardworking team, The Design Files Open House FINALLY opens today! This event seems to become bigger and more complex with every new incarnation – and this year’s event has raised the bar… again! With an all new landscaped garden, custom built kitchen, TDF Talks and our beautiful bespoke home bar, there is so much to discover at this year’s event.

Taking its colour cues from the Dulux 2018 Colour Forecast, the house features furniture by NAU, the new Australian-designed furniture collection from Cult, alongside the latest kitchen and laundry appliances from Miele. Intuitive home audio by SONOS, and a custom-built home bar created in partnership with Dan Murphy’s.

Additionally, we’ve introduced a stunning bespoke kitchen, designed and built in Melbourne by Cantilever Interiors, AND a custom-designed courtyard garden by award-winning local landscape designer Phillip Withers.

For the first time, too, we’re hosting TDF Talks – an inspiring program of speaker events from the worlds of art, architecture, design, styling, photography, social enterprise and more. Tickets for the speaker series are just $20, with all proceeds going to the ASRC (still a few tickets left for most sessions!).

We’ve been working around the clock to make this event truly spectacular, and I must say a HUGE, enormous thanks to our entire team for their unprecedented efforts over these past few weeks. Special thanks to Elle Murrell, Annie Portelli, Sally Tabart, Alice Johnson, Ashley Simonetto, Nat Turnbull, Line Paras, Chelsea Hall, Malika Kirchner, Gordy Johnson, Huw Smith and my amazing Mum, Chrissie – WHAT. A. TEAM.

We look forward to welcoming our visitors at Open House today, tomorrow or over the weekend to see all the magic, wonder and chaos as it unfolds!
