Top Ten Australian Homes of 2016 · Sandra Powell and Andrew King

TODAY we wrap up our TOP TEN Australian Homes of 2016 with a home unlike any other.

The grand St Kilda home of art collectors Sandra Powell and Andrew King first featured only a few weeks ago, but it really made an impact!  This creative Melbourne home is one of our all time favourites EVER, made all the more memorable by one seriously impressive art collection.

As passionate collectors, consultants and supporters of the arts and street art culture, Sandra Powell and Andrew King have amassed an incredible art collection over the past 30 years. Every corner of their St Kilda home features unique and rare works by artists including Andy Warhol, Shepard Fairey, Anthony Lister, Barry McGee, Banksy, Rone, Lush and so many more. It is BEYOND IMPRESSIVE!

Though they have renovated and updated their home over the years, the couple have kept the bones of their rambling Victorian mansion largely intact, from the home’s layout to original stained glass windows that feature in the staircase. Visiting this home is like stepping into a private art museum – every piece has a story, and conveys the infectious passion of the creative couple who live here.

For the full story, and many more pics of Sandra and Andrew’s remarkable home and art collection, do revisit our original post.
