It doesn't feel like that long ago we shared the first book from Sydney stylist Jason Grant - BUT this is a guy who wastes no time! Jason is already back this month with a follow up to his first best selling tome - 'Holiday at Home' is the name of his latest offering, featuring photographs by long time collaborator Lauren Bamford.
'The book combines my love of holidaying and getting away, with relaxed decorating, to inspire the reader to create their own sanctuary at home' explains Jason. Filled with beautiful imagery of chilled out, beachside interiors and holiday snapshots, Holiday at Home has that distinctively summery vibe that Jason is so well known for. 'Everything in the book is something that I love and am inspired by, it's definitely my style and personality on page' Jason attests.
SO how does a busy stylist and writer manage to release two gorgeous, densely populated books in the space of two years? Well, a great work ethic is imperative... but working with close friends who share your enthusiasm certainly helps too! For this book, Jason and Lauren shot all over the place, and took a number of road trips across the East Coast of Australia. The pair shot in Byron Bay, Bondi, Newcastle, Jervis Bay and the Mornington Peninsula to name a few of the prettiest spots. 'We had a schedule and plan, but also worked in a relaxed way to be open to inspiration and discovery' says Jason. 'We literally chased the sun, and had a bit of a holiday while making the book, it was a lot of fun shooting with Lauren, who has been close friend for over 10 years. We had lots of laughs along the way'.
After the incredible success of his first book, Jason had a clear vision for what he wanted to create the second time around. 'We took a lot of the strongest parts of the first book, and focused on these' explains Jason. 'I love Australian style - it's a privilege to create a book to showcase your own style, and I encourage everyone to find their own style and to embrace it too'.
Holiday at Home by Jason Grant is published by Hardie Grant, priced at $45.00, and is in all good bookshops now!
