Nat Turnbull is a dear pal of ours here at TDF - she assists us occasionally, and was one of our fabulous 'polka dot girls' at The Design Files Open House last year.
We are always SO impressed with Nat's clever ideas, energy and incredible DRIVE - she's one of those super creative girls with many, many projects on the go at any one time. She makes gorgeous necklaces with friend Elise Wilken under the name WITU - (you might have seen them at Monkhouse or on Michi Girl last month), she's Beci Orpin's on-and-off assistant, and she also works with Clea Cregan at Miniscapes... talk about get-up-and-go!
As if that wasn't an impressive enough list, just last month Nat was in NYC undertaking two AMAZING INTERNSHIPS with cult design studios CONFETTI SYSTEM and FREDERICKS & MAE !!!
YES. I am not joking. Nat's hipster cred is, clearly, off the charts. I think she might have to retire at 26 the way she's going. Or become an accountant or something (no disrespect to accountants! I LOVE my accountant.)
Anyway we are SO excited this week to share a week with Nat on the Guest Blog as she shares a little New York diary, recounting her experiences at Confetti System (making amazing oversized pinatas and party decorations for Elle magazine fashionistas) and Fredericks & Mae (making horse hair tassels and custom wings and incredible decorative arrows). It is so amazing to get a special peek inside both these studios, and hear Nat's funny stories about having to eat Turkey sandwiches ('American people love turkey, it's so weird?!?' she says!).
ALSO we are a bit excited to have a fabulous giveaway to accompany Nat's NYC Intern diary this week. Third Drawer Down are the Australian distributor for both Confetti System and Fredericks and Mae products, and have very generously offered a giveaway to accompany Nat's guest blog. One lucky reader will win a Confetti System handmade multicoloured garland, valued at $165.00. (pictured below)
To be in the running, simply leave a comment on any of Nat's Guest Blog posts between now and 10.00pm this Thursday. A winner will be drawn at random and announced on Friday!
Massive thanks to NAT for her fab Guest Blog this week, and to Third Drawer Down for the giveaway!
