OK so I have to warn you, today’s house tour is somewhat epic.  This is what happens when I am faced with SO MANY beautiful images that I just can’t bring myself to cull cull cull!  But when a home looks like this one, what can you do!?

This is the gorgeous apartment of Melbourne events guru (and this week’s guest blogger!) Georgie Kay!  Seriously.  Just when I think I couldn’t possibly stumble across another amazing untapped ‘Melbourne Home’, another pearler like this one jumps into my inbox!  Luckyyy!

Georgie’s St Kilda apartment is both her cosy home and the busy office of Georgeous HQ!  Georgie fell in love as soon as she saw the place on a Saturday morning just over 5 years ago, and after a brief visit (and the approval of her girlfriends, of course!), Georgie snapped up her dream apartment the following Monday morning!  It’s one of 10 deco apartments in a block built in the late 1930’s, with a beautiful large Jacaranda tree growing in the front. In Spring (very soon!), the bright purple Jacaranda flowers hang delicately like an umbrella outside the ‘ Georgeous’ office window… no wonder those girls are so inspired!

Like many Melbourne deco apartments, Georgie’s place has such great bones… the generous rooms, timber floor boards and period detailing form the perfect blank canvas for Georgie’s super stylish interiors!  I pretty much LOVE every single thing she owns…. do I really have to list all my favourites….!? OH OK then – the Twiggy chair by the amazing Greg Hatton, the Bird Cube artwork by Anita Bell, the beautiful antique chest of drawers which belonged to Georgie’s grandmother, and industrial table from Tarlo and Graham…. the muted neutral tones on the couch and cushions…. the stunning flowers which fill every room, by Georgie’s amazing florist friend and long term collaborator Melanie of Cecilia Fox…. um… um… um.. it is all just a bit too LOVELY!

HUGE THANKYOU to the amazing Georgie Kay for opening her stunning home to us today AS WELL AS blogging her heart over over on the guest blog all week!  Jeepers creepers, we ask a lot ’round here don’t we?!

Don’t forget to pop over to the guest blog this week to see more inspiring event design goodness from Georgie!
