Todd Selby aka 'THE' Selby, dreaming up ideas for Svbscription V.5 !?

Do you guys know about Svbscription?  It's quite a posh and rather brilliant idea for 'the man who has everything', and although I am neither posh nor a man, I still find it rather intriguing... allow me to explain. Svbscription is a luxury subscription service that deliv­ers a parcel of hand selected, painfully cool prod­ucts direct to its subscribers, four times a year.  Each Svscription parcel has a specific theme ('travel', 'study', 'leisure' etc), and brings together a seriously covetable edit of beautifully designed items in one perfect package.  Many of these items are exclusive, one off pieces created especially for Svscription, and typically they're representative of independent labels rather than big brands.  The emphasis is on  uncovering emerging designers and introducing subscribers to fledgling brands who are destined for cult status! Svbscription is an international affair - the creation of Andrew Apostola and Simon Goodrich of Melbourne web / digital agency Portable, former editor of The Vine Marc Goldenfein, and Sam Wheeler, one half of New York-based creative consultancy Aux Armes.  These people certainly appear to have outrageously good taste, and, importantly - connections! Case in point - Todd Selby (aka 'THE' Selby' !) is Svbscription's most recent collaborator, having jumped on board to curate their 5th parcel, which centres around product for the home. (Do I really need to tell you who The Selby is?  I think not. I hope not.) 'Svbscription approached me and I thought the guys behind the company were great, and that it would be a fun project for me to work on' explains Todd, when asked how this collaboration came about.  'I’ve always wanted to work with some of the creators I’ve photographed in the past, and thought this would be the perfect opportunity'. As is the nature of the subscription trend,  Todd's selections for Svbscription box V.5 can't be named just yet. The mystery is kind of part of the magic!  But we have been told that he is working on one of his own products especially for this project - an exclusive custom recipe book just for Svscription members.  And, in keeping with their ethos of uncovering the coolest, newest finds, all of the other brands and designers involved in package V.5 are independent creatives, based from Mexico to New Zealand! Svbscription is pitched to discerning gentlemen, and priced accordingly.  One off orders for The Selby's custom Svbscription box are priced at AU$350, whilst an annual membership costs AU$1150, which covers four curated parcels delivered to your door every year. The 'Home by The Selby' Svbscription box is due to ship on July 1st 2013.  You can sign up until June 14th - but numbers are strictly limited... and something tells me this one won't last long!
