While Alt Summit is full of fantastic panels, speakers and so many opportunities for bloggers to learn and share ideas, it also looks like plenty of FUN! More parties and dinners than you can poke a stick at and meeting so many bloggers in real life who already feel like old friends. Sounds like an absolute hoot! Today Petina shares some of the fun and festivities from day 3, thanks Petina! -Jenny x
Panelists: Dottie Van Every of Modern Kiddo, Erin Hiemstra of Apartment 34, Jess Chamberlain of Sunset, Laura Mayes of Kirtsy & Blog Con Queso
Reporters want news. Prioritise the #no.1 place you want to be mentioned and who you want to contact.
Know your elevator pitch. If you only get three things to say what would they be?
Be quotable. Never underestimate the importance of rehearsing. Rehearse some sound bytes. Be enthusiastic. Make your last statement count. “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.” – Coco Chanel
Simplify your language. Give examples. Actually answer the reporter’s questions. Tell brief, compelling stories.
The parties didn’t stop. On Friday, blogger hosted gatherings were held in luxe suites right in the hotel. Food, drink, photo booths and gifts were all part of the night. The themes for the parties were amazing and included Chinese New Year, Vintage Wine & Cheese Tasting, Handmade By You and Night in paris.
Be sure to come back tomorrow as I’ll be sharing the best from the closing keynote.
See you then,
